Don’t Let Equipment Drift Put Your Results at Risk
Your instruments are critical to the quality of your work. However, over time, the performance of instruments such as electronic balances and micropipettes can change due to normal wear and tear.
According to HOKLAS Supplementary Criteria No. 2 ‘All Test Categories – Equipment Calibration and Verification’ Appendix A “Common Equipment”, the recommended maximum period between successive calibrations and verifications is three years for balances and scales and six months for piston-operated volumetric apparatus (e.g. micropipettes).
For equipment that is used frequently daily, a shorter calibration interval may be appropriate.
Undetected equipment deviations can affect test results, potentially leading to retesting, additional time and workload, and delays to operations. Where affected results are carried forward to subsequent processes, the impact may extend further, resulting in greater operational and business risks, as well as potential damage to professional reputation and customer confidence.
Through professional calibration services and regular equipment checks, you can identify potential deviations at an early stage, reduce measurement risks, and maintain stable, accurate and reliable quality management and day-to-day operations.
Professional Calibration Services You Can Trust
Chow Sang Sang Precious Metal Laboratory is accredited under the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS) for Calibration Services (Registration No. HOKLAS 030).
HOKLAS is an accreditation scheme operated by Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS) under the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC). Accredited laboratories are regularly assessed by independent qualified assessors. Accredited conformity assessment bodies have the competence in providing the service listed in their scope of accreditation. They have an appropriate organisation structure, suitably and adequately staffed and equipped and operate under a documented quality management system in conformity with relevant international standards. The results they obtain are reliable and trustworthy. Non-medical laboratories accredited by HKAS are in conformity with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025 – General requirements for competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
Our calibration services are carried out by a dedicated team of competent personnel. All measurement equipment used in our calibration activities is calibrated against traceable reference standards, maintaining an unbroken chain of traceability to the International System of Units (SI). We are committed to delivering every calibration service with consistent quality and dependable turnaround times.
